Friday should be a continuation of the nice weather associated with the high pressure system that we have enjoyed on Thursday. Unfortunately, this high pressure will begin to exit the picture in the evening, bringing in a low pressure system that will affect the region in the first half of the weekend. No worries about watching the weather on Friday, but stay tuned for Saturday, as flood threats are certainly possible.

Expect a wave of precipitation associated with a low pressure system to the south to affect the Commonwealth all day Friday. Heavier precipitation bands will in the southern areas, while northern regions will receive lesser amounts. There is a possibility of some nuisance flooding, but I don't think that it will be a widespread threat, thus there is no need to be extra vigilant with looking for any advisories.

Hello everyone,
Finally, we can enjoy some warmer weather on Monday as a warm front pushes across the state. However, towards Monday night, a very strong cold front will be moving through the region. Most areas in the state are forecasted to have a chance for thunderstorms, so watch out for any watches or warnings that may pop u. As of right now, Ohio is already covered with wind advisories, so look out for those to progress here as well. Enjoy the warm weather while it lasts!

During the first half of the day, wintry precipitation associated with the nor'easter traveling off the coast towards New England should affect the Commonwealth. This precipitation should exit the region from southwest to northeast in the latter half of the day. The precipitation shouldn't pose any significant or widespread threat to the state, but be on the lookout for any advisory updates throughout the day.

Hello all,
Nothing to worry about for Monday, as a ridge of high pressure keeps the sunny skies and cold temperatures around. It looks like the next chance for some interesting weather won't occur until Wednesday, as a fast-moving low moves in south of the commonwealth.

Continuing over from Thursday, there will be no severe weather threats on Friday. During the day, the Commonwealth should tap into warm sector temperatures, but during the evening and into the night, a cold frontal passage should happen. Showers should accompany the frontal passage, but there should be minimal severe and flooding issues within it. As before, enjoy the warm weather!

We have had peaceful weather on Thursday, thanks to a high pressure system that was situated over the region for the past couple of days. This pattern should continue into Friday, so I don't expect much in the way of severe weather during the day. This weekend should have soaking rains throughout the Commonwealth, especially late in the weekend, so if you can, look out for possible flood watches or advisories being posted at the latter part of the day.
Have a great Spring Break!

As a low pressure system approaches on Monday, with it will come plenty of rain, showers, and possible thunderstorms. This, along with current snow melt, could make for some pretty good flooding throughout the state. There are already Flood Watches issued for most of PA. There is a high potential for more watches, warnings, and advisories to pop up, so do keep a watchful eye on tomorrow's weather; should be a busy day!

We are without any doubt in a very active regime, with a cornucopia of advisories, watches, and warnings throughout the Commonwealth, ranging from Winter Storm Warnings to Flood Watches to High Wind Warnings. This is due to the rather strong low pressure system that is currently causing the severe weather outbreak in the southeastern United States. As the low tracks through the Commonwealth on Friday, be prepared for heavy rain and gusty winds as the cold front moves through. Although the precipitation will be subsiding throughout the day, the flooding potential remains high due to melting snow packs. Be prepared for any new advisories being posted, especially for wind and flooding.
On a semi-related note, Monday looks like a good pattern for some thundershowers!

Unfortunately, our honeymoon with springlike temperatures will be cut short Friday, as a cold front will begin to pass through the Commonwealth from mid-morning in the northwest to the afternoon and the evening in the southeast. There will be scattered showers from the approaching front, but they should be on the light side. Because of this, I am not concerned about any decent threat of advisories being posted, but it is always good practice to keep an eye out for it.

Things are finally quieting down in Pennsylvania, and with a warm-up on the way! Currently, there's nothing in the way of rain or snow, but it's getting blustery out there. Sustained NW winds of 20-25 mph are possible, with gusts potentially reaching 45-50 mph. A few advisories have already been issued from Bradford all the way south into Johnstown, so watch out for any more that may pop up.

We are experiencing rather chilly weather throughout the Commonwealth, with cloud streams coming from the west. There are also a few Wind Chill Advisory counties in the northwest region of the state, slated to expire at 10am. These should expire because of the warm air advection that will occur when the high pressure system will slide to the east. This is all ahead of relatively weak clipper systems that will affect the area this weekend. Snow showers or flurries should start late Friday night. Although the clipper systems will be rather weak, just keep an eye out for any alerts in the extreme northern reaches of our coverage area.

For once in a long time, virtually all of the state is currently under clear skies! Not much will be happening during Friday, but this will transition during the night into a period of mixed precipitation throughout the Commonwealth during the weekend. The northeastern counties of Carbon and Monroe already have a Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Friday night through Saturday evening. Based on that, be on the lookout (especially during the latter half of the day) for any watches, advisories, or warnings being posted during the day for the weekend storm.

The nicer weather we saw today is unfortunately coming to an end, as a major winter storm is headed our way from the Midwest. Currently, winter storm watches are covering almost the entire region, with the exception of the very northeastern tip of PA. Definitely monitor this situation carefully tomorrow, as these watches could very well turn into warnings. I think we can easily see up to 3-4 inches of snow from this storm, before turning into mostly sleet and freezing rain on Tuesday. Stay tuned for tomorrow's update!

This week has been fairly active snow-wise, and Friday will be no exception. Currently, snow showers associated with a clipper system are moving through the northwest areas of the Commonwealth. As for duration, the clipper should clear the area by Friday night. Accumulations in the affected areas shouldn't exceed an inch, but higher elevations may see greater amounts of snow. I'm not expecting much in the way of watches, warnings, or advisories, due to the relatively disorganized nature of the clipper. Looking forward to the weekend, a stronger and more organized clipper system will affect the area, so stay tuned for tomorrow's update!

Friday should shape up to be an interesting day weather-wise. The current snowfall experienced throughout the commonwealth should move out of the picture as the Winter Weather Advisory expires at 9AM Friday morning. As the low moves off towards New England, it should also deepen, which will strengthen the northwest winds associated with the low's departure. Although the relatively strong winds will cause blowing snow throughout the state, it will also bring in much colder temperatures for the weekend. I'm not expecting too much activity after the storm passes, but keep on the lookout for anything that is associated with the wind and cold.
